Audi is one of the important brands that come to someone’s mind when talking about German cars. Eventhough it is  a part of the Volkswagen group Audi was found in 1899. August Horch set the names of the first cars with his name and designed his first car in 1901. Afterwards the name of the changed. And since then the name stood still. Eventhough this is the starting point of Audi, it can be seen that in 1932 this name merged with Horch, DKW and Wanderer.

First Car That Was Built By Audi

After the name change, Audi entered the market in September of 1965 with its 72 horsepowered 4 door sedan. It became reputable within the market because it was using the most powerful and advanced engine in the market. After that date Audi started coming into people’s minds when they are talking about German car brands.

Models of Audi

We can see that the models of Audi starts with A1. The brand is progressing from A series as they develop them further and further.

A Series


We can talk about A1 as the first serie of the Audi models. There exists 2 different packages. These are dynamic and sports. The vehicle’s maximum power is 3500-4000 hp/dd with its 1598 cc engine.


We can see around 5 different frames in A3 model of Audi. These are A3 sportback, A3 sedan, A3 cabriolet, S3 sportback and S3 sedan models.


A4 model has 3 different frames. If we start from A4 Sedan, the vehicle offers 7 forward S-tronic traction system. When we look at A4 Avant we can see that it has a cubic capacity of 1395 cc3. The last frame is the A4 allroad quattro 2.0 TDI.


The last vehicle, Dynamic 1.4 TSFI has 110 horsepower and a forward wheel drive. The vehicle is also equipped with a 7 forward S-tronic transmission. A5 sportback offers 2 different models with different types of fuel, one using gasoline while the other one uses diesel. The most famous of these 2 is the one that uses gasoline. 3.0 TDI model has 235 horsepower. The vehicle that is equipped with an S-tronic traction system has a cubic capacity of 1968 cc3. When we look at the A6 Avant model we can see that it only offers diesel engine. 2.0 TDI quattro model has 140 horsepower with a cubic capacity of 1968 cc3. Allroad quattro serie has a remarkable cubic capacity of 2967 cc3. The vehicle again offers S-tronic traction system and 200 horsepower. The follow up of this A6 serie is being sold as 4.0 TGSI quattrotiptronic. The last model is RS6 Avantperformance. The vehicle has 445 horsepower.


When we move to A7 model of Audi we can see that only A7 Sportback exists. The vehicle has a traction system of 2.0 TFSI S-tronic transmission and offers 185 horsepower.


This model has 5 different frames. These are new A8, A7 L, A8 l 12, S8, S8 Plus. The vehicles usually have 2.0 TDI engine and its variations.

Q Series


This Audi model that has 1395 cubic capacity uses Dynamic 1.4 TFSI engine on demand. Except this engine it offers a variety of engine options from 1.0 to 1.8.


The vehicle that uses 1.4 TFSI cylinder on demand S-tronic has a cubic capacity of 1395 cc3. It also has 110 horsepower.


This Audi model offers dynamic, design and sport packages. In terms of engine they use Dynamic 2.0 TDI quattro S-tronic.


The latest edition of Q series offers only one type of engine which is 2.0 TFSI that has an output of 185 horsepower. The vehicle that has 1984 cc3 cubic capacity uses 8 forward geared tiptronic transmission.

TT and R Series


TT Coupe and TTS Coupe series both use the same frame and use 2.0 TFSI engine with 169 horsepower.


R8 model has the frame of a coupe and offers only one type of engine which is V10 5.2 FSI quattro 397.


RS models have RS6, Avant, RS6 Avantperformance, RS7 Sportback and RS7 Sportbackperformance series. Besides their frame it can be seen that they use engines around 2.0.
